HBAWC Mission

The HBAWC is a local Association dedicated to local issues on behalf of local businesses. It has been an active part of Washington County for over thirty years. A non-profit association with member companies, representing land developers, new home builders, full service remodeling contractors and those companies that support and supply the building industry. Our members are proud of their professions and they care about Washington County. The majority of our members not only work in Washington County, but live here as well. Their children attend school with your children, they attend your church, they are your neighbors. They care about their communities.

As the industry voice, the Association serves its members through a wide variety of educational and advocacy programs which enables them to maintain high standards in all aspects of their businesses.

The Home Builders Association of Washington County is dedicated to being proactive in pursuing legislative and regulatory issues relative to the building industry and within the best interests of the consumer in Washington County Maryland to help keep home ownership within the reach of every citizen of Washington County who may choose to own a home. The HBAWC is an independent Association and is not affiliated with any other state or national association. The HBAWC is a local Association dedicated to being pro-active on your behalf where you work and/or live.

The HBAWC monitors regulations, policy changes and ordinances changes both on the County level and within the City of Hagerstown. Protecting your interests, is a challenge the HBAWC has undertaken, and will continue on behalf of its members. It is the mission of the HBAWC to monitor the regulations you, as a business person do not have the time to monitor.

Homeownership is the American Dream, and the HBAWC believes that homeownership can, and should be within the reach of every American family. Working with all levels of government and monitoring regulation and legislation relating to housing, the HBAWC works to keep the cost of housing affordable. We believe housing should be well constructed and designed and that all American homes should be built under the free American enterprise system.

Membership is open to any company or firm related to the building industry, both residential and commercial at a new yearly rate of $95. To join please print the membership application and mail it along with your yearly dues to the address on the application.
