| Median Priced Dwelling Units (MPDU)/Inclusionary Zoning |
| As required in the 2005 Excise Tax Bill passed by the Maryland State
Legislature and as part of one of the BOCC 2005 goals, the BOCC is in the
process of appointing a Task Force to explore the lack of Workforce Housing
in the County, to include the recommendation of programs to address this
lack of housing. Montgomery County has the longest running MPDU
program in the state. Recently Montgomery County formed a task force
to review the program and to make recommendations as to how well the program
is working, and how it should be changed. A public hearing was held on
these changes and the resulting changes are set to be adopted. To read
the program that will be adopted
please click here.
